Background:
AMI is a French Non Governmental Organization, which has been working for health training and supports in Afghanistan since 1979. AMI operates in two provinces: in the capital city (Kabul) and in the Central and Eastern regions (Kunar).
Duties & Responsibilities:
General responsibilities:
During the training and orientation period the Security Officer is directly managed by the Security Responsible. (Upon completion of training the Security Officer will report direct to the HoM.) He will work with the Security Responsible to develop and strengthen the security framework for all AMI operations in Afghanistan. The Security Officer will represent AMI at security related meetings with peer organisations and appropriate external agencies.
1. Security management.
2. Information gathering, analysis and dissemination.
3. Conduct security and risk assessments
4. Crisis management
Objective 1: Security and safety management
Activities/Main duties:
1. To conduct Risk and Security Assessments on a regular basis.
2. To perform Risk Analysis and formulate Risk Reduction plans.
3. To compile and update SOP as required.
4. To support compliance with all SOP.
5. To provide security briefings for national and international staffs when newly arriving in the mission.
6. Ensure that AMI’s security management plans are relevant and constantly updated and that all team members know their roles and responsibilities.
7. Maintain a database of AMI security incident reports.
Objective 2: Information Gathering and Analysis
Activities/Main duties:
1. Maintain and develop a network of information sources.
2. Compile regular security management reports with situational analysis and recommendations.
3. Maintain an incident mapping database for all security incidents in AMI operational areas.
4. Perform Risk Trend Analysis
Objective 3: Crisis Management
Activities/Main duties:
1. To participate in any incident management as an expert and support.
2. To participate as a member of the Crisis Management Cell.
3. Maintain contingency plans to current operational Threat/Risk assessments.
Qualifications required:
1. At least 2 years experience in an international organization.
2. At least 3 years experience in security field
3. Higher Education
4. Fluent in Pashto, Dari and English.
5. Report writing, risk analysis, information gathering and dissemination
6. Computer skills including Ms Office application and internet.
7. Prepared to travel in location in Afghanistan as put direction by Head of Mission
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong organizational abilities.
9. Working team environment
