Background
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has established in Athens, Greece a Programme Management Office (PMO) in charge of implementing the Black Sea Trade Investment and Promotion Programme (BSTIP). The Programme aims at promoting the regional economic integration process among the member states of BSEC.
Duties and Responsibilities
The business broker is expected to carry out the following functions:
Key results:
Ensuring liaison functions between the PMO, UNDP Country Offices(COs) and the business support institutions(BSIs) from the countries which will be assigned to him/her responsibility;
Provide ad-hoc advisory services to local SMEs to enable them to take full advantage of the BSTIP programme activities;
Contributing to the organization of business-to-business events for the promotion of intra-regional trade and investment;
Oversee the preparation of market surveys and company profiles;
Assist in the identification of potential participating companies to be invited to the BSTIP intra-regional trade and investment events;
Interact with UNDP staff and partners to exchange information on operational issues and seek co-operation. Resolve operational and process problems and refer complex issues to the programme manager with recommendations for course of action;
Assist in administrative arrangements for the organization of BSTIP events;
Update the BSTIP website;
Draft BSTIP communication materials for the review and approval of the supervisor and/or other colleagues;
Prepare briefing materials as required for mission travel and/or discussion on project activities and status.

Proficiency in IT applications


Required Skills and Experience
Education:
University degree in Law, Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration and any other related subject.
Experience:
At least two years prior working experience in private sector and related to the area of marketing, trade promotion, business consultancy services . Familiarity with the region.
Languages:
Fluent written and spoken English.Knowledge of Russian and other languages from the region an advantage.
