El líder del PP, Mariano Rajoy, ha anunciado hoy que su partido "rompe cualquier interlocución" con el ministro de Justicia, Mariano Fernández Bermejo, y ha pedido la recusación del juez de la Audiencia Nacional, Baltasar Garzón.
Rajoy ha comparecido hoy en rueda de prensa rodeado de casi todos los miembros del Comité Ejecutivo Nacional para visualizar su unidad en medio de la crisis interna abierta por el presunto caso de corrupción descubierto alrededor del partido. En su comparecencia ante los medios ha sentenciado que el presunto caso de corrupción que está investigando Garzón "no es una trama del PP, es una trama contra el PP" y ha advertido que hará todo lo que esté en su mano "para que nadie manche el nombre del partido".
Esta decisión llega después de la imputación de dos miembros del PP y tras publicarse en El Mundo que el ministro Bermejo y el juez Garzón coincidieron de cacería el pasado fin de semana en Jaén. El encuentro entre Bermejo y Garzón supone para Rajoy "un acto obsceno que liquida la calidad de la democracia". El líder popular ha denunciado que nunca, desde la presidencia de Adolfo Suárez a la de José María Aznar, se había hecho un uso "tan partidista de la Fiscalía".
El líder de los populares ha negado toda vinculación con la presunta trama de corrupción, y ha puesto sobre la mesa la "honorabilidad" de su partido tras quejarse de encontrarse en una situación de "indefensión absoluta". Todas estas declaraciones las ha realizado después de celebrar una reunión a puerta cerrada para tratar la crisis interna suscitada por el presunto escándalo de corrupción en Boadilla.
Rajoy, que no ha admitido preguntas de los medios de comunicación, ha anunciado otras medidas entre las que destacan solicitar las comparecencias parlamentarias del ministro de Justicia y del fiscal general del Estado, personarse en la causa judicial, exigir el levantamiento del secreto de sumario.
Un hecho insólito
En un hecho sin precedentes en la historia del PP, Rajoy bajó a la sala de prensa de Génova 13, acompañado de los vicesecretarios generales, los barones territoriales y los vocales del segundo mayor órgano de dirección del partido entre congresos.
Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón, Rita Barberá, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, Federico Trillo, Esperanza Aguirre, Esteban González Pons, Ana Mato, Ana Botella y Francisco Camps fueron los primeros en aparecer en la sala de prensa para fotografiarse junto al presidente nacional.
Poco a poco, entraron el resto de los miembros del Comité Ejecutivo Nacional que acudieron a la reunión de esta mañana: Alfonso Alonso, Leopoldo Barreda, Juan José Imbroda, Ana Pastor, Alicia Sánchez Camacho, Luisa Fernanda Rudi, Manuel Cobo, Cristóbal Montoro y un largo etcétera hasta superar los 40 dirigentes del PP.
La gran ausencia fue el presidente fundador del PP, Manuel Fraga, que estuvo en la reunión pero no asistió a la rueda de prensa, quizá por la difícil accesibilidad de la sala de prensa, a la que se llega después de superar varios tramos de escaleras.
